I cannot recommend Ruth highly enough. We employed her in a panic, realising that my daughter had only a few months left to cram in the whole GCSE curriculum. Ruth was calm and totally proficient. Her knowledge of the syllabus and what was required to pass the exam was second to none. She was able to be both realistic about expectations and encouraging, but more importantly she was a very stabilising presence for my daughter during a stressful time of cramming. My daughter achieved an A* grade after only a few months with Ruth. We were astonished and delighted. I studied with Ruth for 3 years at CityLit in London and she was always a very knowledgeable, committed and patient teacher. Ruth has an excellent knowledge of the formal and informal Spanish language along with the ability to clearly explain, teach and develop her students, making the complex seem straight forward. Ruth’s lessons were always informative, interesting and fun and I was able to achieve my learning goals. Ruth taught me across the start of Lockdown and very successfully moved our in-person group online via zoom. In difficult and unusual circumstances, Ruth continued to provide the same high quality tuition and made hard times easier.

I thoroughly enjoyed the course with Ruth Andres. Her approach to teaching a language on line is very effective and great fun. I particularly liked the videos and the Quizlet practice. In fact there is nothing I have not enjoyed and I feel I have learned a lot in these months. I have now the confidence to have a basic conversation with my Spanish friends, thanks to Ruth’s friendly, vibrant and patient interaction with us at our very beginning of the long process of mastering a new language. Spanish would be my 3rd language so we had few smiles when I got mixed up with my native Italian, it’s not easy in my later life to remember new words and expressions but I was never discouraged, on the contrary just gently prompt to take on the challenge.

Ruth Andres' online Spanish course is definitely a very helpful course to give a foundation in Spanish vocabulary and grammar. It is a good mix of activities, games, animations and photographs which one can work through at one's own pace. Ruth is clear with her delivery. My daughter needed Spanish instruction to get into the IB Spanish class, and Ruth was so great. She contacted the teacher at the school to see what my daughter would need to know. She was flexible in adjusting to our schedule. She let us know how she was progressing and suggested ways to increase her improvement. Most important for my daughter was Ruth was patient and kind and it helped my daughter learn. We will use Ruth again if we ever have a need.
